FCI European Dog Show 2026, Stockholm
We prepared for this year’s European Dog Show in our usual way: the plan was not to enter anyone at all. Our Jack Russells have already performed successfully at numerous world events, and among the Bernese Mountain Dogs, Lenná won the Intermediate Class at last year’s World Dog Show in Helsinki, then went on to beat the Open Class and Junior Class winners to earn the CAC and CC Bitch titles among the females. Why take them again? Stockholm is very far away anyway.
Later, the idea came up that maybe we could take Maris by plane, as she could win the Puppy Class. In the end, we didn’t enter her after all.
Finally, 2–3 days before the final entry deadline, our friends suggested that we could drive out together and sleep on the ferry along the way. We have a suitable dog car, and otherwise it’s just a day and a half and – hip-hop – we’re there! So we ended up entering Maris and decided to show Lenná at a world competition once again.
On the morning after the long trip to Stockholm, before the Jack Russells were judged, our usual pessimism naturally took over, but on-site we saw Maris as the best dog in her age group. Her presentation went excellently, Maris worked like a dream, and received a Very Promising mark! After the class line-up Maris won her class: European Hope title, hooray! What’s more, we even beat the class-winning puppy male in the comparison, making Maris Best Puppy! This is a fantastic result; it would be a dream come true if we could achieve similar results in the junior or adult classes in the coming years.
The next day was Lenná’s turn in the ring. She worked beautifully and achieved an Excellent rating in the Open Class at the European Dog Show!
In between show days, we explored Stockholm, and on the way home, we even stopped at Brahehus. It was a truly wonderful – and very exhausting – trip.
