We participated in the two-day SHKME (Swiss Mountain Dog Club of Hungary) show in Fonyód during the first weekend of summer.
Just like the previous year, we had the chance to meet and compete with dogs from Hungary and abroad in beautiful surroundings, judged by world-class breed experts.
Three of our Bernese Mountain Dogs accompanied us to the shows. We entered Magnus in the intermediate class, and for the first time this year, Penny Ling and Tuppen joined us as well. Penny competed in the open class, while Tuppen was entered in the champion class. We were a bit nervous since Penny and Tuppen hadn’t been shown for over a year.
The Club Show took place on Saturday, judged by Andrea Maret from Switzerland. Magnus won his class, Penny placed third out of seven dogs in the female open class, and Tuppen secured second place in the female champion class.
The Specialty Show was held on Sunday, judged by Zoltan Baffia. Our dogs had an outstanding day. Magnus once again won the intermediate class, and Penny emerged as the winner of the open class! A bit later, Tuppen won the champion class, the Specialty Winner title as the most beautiful adult female, and ultimately received the Best of Breed title as the most beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog of the Specialty Show.
The final event of the day was the Best in Show, where winners from each breed competed, and Tuppen won the Best in Show title of the Specialty Show!!!
Huge result we are extremly proud!
A few days later, we learned that this result also qualified Tuppen for the Hungarian Grand Champion title! It was an incredible weekend, marking one of Tuppen’s best show results. Initially, we hadn’t planned to bring Tuppen and Penny, and it would have been a pity if they had stayed at home.
